What is modern contemporary batik?
It’s a brand-new kind of art which combines traditional Malaysian batik techniques with modern art. This fun and therapeutic workshop is suitable for anyone, even absolute beginners.
Through this 2-hour workshop, you will make your own batik lantern while learning about the making of traditional batik.
What to expect:
Learn about the history of batik, how it is made, and the tools & materials needed for batik canting
Experiment with mixing colours to produce the right tone and shade
Paint on pre-waxed modern batik lantern
Get tips and tricks from a batik artist
All materials and tools provided
